Yes, Life is Hard. No, God’s Not Mad at You.

If you have ever questioned why life is hard, and why you are going through your painful struggles, you are not alone. You know the Bible verses, you have heard the sermons, and you have listened to plenty of inspirational stories, but you are starting to have your doubts. Why are things getting worse? Why doesn’t God step in and take away the pain?

Perhaps, a sliver of doubt has entered into your mind about God’s goodness. If God really loved you, would He let you suffer like this? Or, you may be wondering if God is mad at you for something in your past. You know God is supposed to forgive sins, but honestly, it feels like He is not letting this one go.

Let’s settle this…Yes, life is hard. No, God is not mad at you.

God is not mad at you. He’s not punishing you. He’s forging something eternal inside you — a man who can be trusted, a man with spiritual weight. God knows your wife needs a good and righteous man who will lead his family to say like Joshua, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Your kids need a pillar of strength that will not be shaken. When life gets hard for your children, the only strength you will have to share is the strength you have built up in the Lord’s Gym.

Your community needs a man who will not fold or faint in the fire. Doing the right thing is easy when it is popular and costs you nothing. Hard times are holy because they make us like Christ and set us apart from the weak men who give up or give in when the world comes against them.

Don’t mistake God’s chiseling hand as a hand of anger. He is not withholding His strong discipline and grace from you because He loves you like a Father loves His son.
