A Spiritual Awakening Is Happening Among Men
“I am done with the church.” For many years, I heard this expression from countless men. Living in Seattle, the collapse of Mars Hill left many men in a spiritual wasteland, and that was really only the tip of the ice berg. For a long time, the narrative has been the same—men are disengaged from faith, drifting from church, and disinterested in the things of God. But something remarkable is happening across the nation. The tide is turning.
According to Barna Research, 43% of men now report attending church weekly, compared to 36% of women. Think about that for a minute… men are outpacing women in church attendance! Even more surprising, young men are leading the way. Since 2019, both Gen Z and Millennials have shown the greatest surge in regular church attendance, transforming from the least engaged generation to the most spiritually active.
Men have been plagued for years by pornography struggles, dopamine addictions and growing levels of depression… but now they are finding hope and victory in the message of Jesus and the truth of Scripture. Instead of living in digital worlds and video game landscapes, men are escaping the matrix to experience real life with real people in the body of Christ.
The American Bible Society’s 2025 State of the Bible Report echoes this awakening. Millennial men—once the least likely group to read Scripture—have increased their Bible engagement in the past year. Across all generations, men have grown in Bible use by 19%.
This is not a quiet trend—it’s a movement.
From Stadiums to Baptismal Waters
It’s not just happening in church auditoriums or on Bible apps—it's happening in the waters of baptism. Across campuses, communities, and cities, tens of thousands of men are surrendering their lives to Christ.
At the University of Tennessee, more than 8,000 students sought Jesus in one weekend. Nationwide, the Baptize Movement is reporting waves of revival as thousands of men and women publicly declare their faith in Christ.
Clearly, God is moving among men—and He’s calling them back to Himself with passion, purpose, and power.
IMPACT Players: Partnering with God’s Movement
This is the movement we have been praying for at IMPACT Players. I have often said,
“There will not be a spiritual movement in this country until God moves amongst men.”
I believe that to be true. I have also heard it said,
“Every generation needs a new revolution.”
That is what I believe is happening right now. A spiritual movement happening through a move of God in the lives of men. The Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha are experiencing a revolution. As a Gen X’er (aka - Baby Buster), it is up to my generation to strengthen and support this movement and to add wind and fuel to the fires of revival sparking across our land.
I couldn’t be more excited about the way that IMPACT Players is positioned to serve the men across our country in this pivotal moment. Already, we’re seeing men step off the sidelines and into God’s calling as husbands, fathers, and leaders. Through local and online IMPACT Cohorts, new IMPACT Players Chapters and Men’s Breakfast Gatherings, and IMPACT Retreats (coming in 2026), we’re filling 3 unique needs:
- Authentic and Biblical Cohort-based Transformation: We cultivate a space where men drop the mask, get real, and encounter biblical truth that leads to personal breakthrough and spiritual growth.
- Brotherhood-Driven Discipleship: We move men out of isolation into a band of brothers where discipleship is biblical, practical, and relational. Training men with Biblical and practical truths and tools to make disciples and lead spiritually in their home, workplace, church and community.
- Bridge-focused Partnership with the Local Church: We reach men who feel disconnected from church or faith and forge relational connections to gospel-centered partner churches. We don’t replace the church—we strengthen it.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to inspire men to become great husbands, fathers, and leaders by equipping them to thrive in the relationships that matter most.
This is men’s discipleship that’s real, relational, and rooted in the gospel.
A Nationwide Men’s Movement
There’s a spiritual resurgence rising—a generation of men who refuse to settle for cultural complacency and are choosing instead to follow Jesus with courage, humility, and strength.
The question isn’t if God is moving among men.
He is.
