Obedience & Experiencing God’s Presence

A Compromised Man Cannot Be Trusted

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 1:1-2

----------

The path we choose will determine the man we become.  One path leads to blessing, protection and provision from God.  The other path leads to perishing.  Most Christian men would readily profess that they want the life blessed by God, but the path they choose daily tells another story.

They say they want to walk in the way of wisdom, but the friends, podcasts, audiobooks, blogs, and youtube videos they listen to come from secular sources.

They say they want to walk in holiness, but their daily patterns keep putting them on the same path as any other non-believer.

They say they want to live an abundant life in Christ, but they keep going to the same superficial streams instead of the deep well of living water.

They delight in entertainment and distraction, choosing to scroll posts and surf channels instead of delighting in Scripture and meditating deeply on God’s Word.

To love and obey God is to detest the things of this world.  Attempting to be close to God and cool with the world is a one way ticket to a town called compromise.  A compromised man cannot be trusted with God’s blessings , divine honor, or sovereign responsibilities.

Choose your path, walk it every day, and become the man God promises to bless.

Reflection:  (Don’t skip this!)

  • What do I need to know?
  • How do I need to grow?
  • Where does this need to show up in my life?
