Why Does Manhood Matter?

Your Manhood Is Reflecting God’s Image

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Genesis 1:26-27

God made men. God made women. Different, yet equally important. Both created in His image. Men and women are unique among all of God’s living creation, because mankind alone has been given the title of image bearers of God.

Whether you realize it or not, you are representing God to someone today. A child, a coworker, a neighbor, or a loose connection on social media is gaining an understanding of God by watching your life. You are an image bearer, and you have been given both divine dignity and a holy responsibility.

What makes you like God is your soul… your ability to love, reason, lead and worship. God wants you to be a ruler and a steward of His creation. But first, He calls you to be a Son and a follower of Jesus Christ. Take time today to reflect on why your manhood matters to God, and to those around you.
