God Made You To Rule With Responsibility

“When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place— what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet.”

Psalm 8:3–6

God made you the ruler of the works He has created. He has given you authority over the earth and everything in it. The King of heaven has crowned you with glory and honor. Is that the man you see in the mirror when you stumble into your bathroom and throw water in your face each morning?

The world can beat you down and tell you your impact is insignificant and that nothing you do really matters. Don’t buy the lie. You have been crowned with responsibility. God has given you a world to rule.

You may not feel like much of a ruler. You are working tirelessly to make ends meet, shuttling kids from one activity to another, and spinning more plates than you can count. Perhaps you feel more like a slave than a ruler.

It’s time to start owning your life. No one can tell you who you are, what your value is, or what you will make your life about but you. God has given you the power and the resources to be exactly who He created you to be. As long as you continue to shirk responsibility, point the finger, or pass the blame, you will always feel like a victim or a slave to the people, circumstances, and forces around you.

God is supreme. This is not a self help message. We bow at His feet and obey His commands. But make no mistake, you must take ownership of your life if you want to be a man whom God can use. Start today.
