Don’t Quit Now!

“Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Galatians 6:9

Ferocious faithfulness is the heart of a champion. What is it that people love about the character Rocky Balboa? He wasn’t the best fighter or the biggest boxer with the fastest gloves, but he refused to quit, no matter how many times he got knocked down. Too many Christian men quit on themselves, God, and the mission God has given them way too quickly. In boxing, a fighter who gets knocked out after one punch is said to have a “glass jaw.”

There are too many “glass jaw” men, husbands, and fathers in our world today. Mike Tyson once said, “Everyone has a plan until he gets punched in the mouth,” and some men give up on their plans, hopes, and responsibilities after their first punch to the mouth. You are tougher and more resilient than you think you are. When life knocks you down, don’t believe the lie that it has knocked you out too.

God has called you to do something good, but you may discouraged because you are not seeing the results you once expected. You may be growing weary, and even considering throwing in the towel. Do not give up. Seriously, don’t quit on yourself or God.

On the other side of your perseverance is a harvest, but you will never see it if you quit now.
