Singleness and Career Success

As an increasing number of men take off in their careers while being single, there are those who see single men as an unlimited resource to be used up, or as someone who cannot be promoted beyond a certain rank or salary because he doesn’t have a marriage or family. If you are single and, in the workforce, remember these important reminders.
- Singleness is completeness in Christ.
- Singleness is not an excuse for workaholism.
- Self-care is good and brings God glory.
- Self-indulgence is idolatry.
- Be intentional to develop practices and activities to restore and replenish your soul.
- Avoid coping, numbing and distraction habits that steal your joy.
- Invest in a life-giving Christian community.
- Cultivate deep friendships.
- Practice hospitality.
- Find a single role model.
- Marriage is not the cure all for loneliness or sexual purity.
