A Bold Move:
Baptism of the Unashamed

Unashamed Faith. Lasting IMPACT.

Why Baptism Matters

For a man who’s decided to follow Jesus, baptism is the first bold move — a public declaration that you belong to Him. Baptism is you drawing a line in the sand and saying, “I’m done living for myself. My life now belongs to Christ.”

Baptism is not how a person becomes a Christian, but a statement and a symbol of his new life in Christ.

Three Reasons For Men To Get Baptized

To Follow the Example Set by Christ

Jesus didn’t need to be baptized, but He chose to humble Himself and model obedience for us. When He came up from the water, God the Father said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17. Every man wants to hear the Father say three things - “I love you, I am proud of you, and you are worthy of respect.”  When you follow Christ in baptism, your Father speaks those very words over you.

Christ Commands It

Jesus didn’t just suggest baptism — He commanded it. “Go and make disciples… baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19. Obedience is the true mark of a disciple. When a man says “yes” to baptism, he’s saying “yes” to Jesus’ authority in every part of his life.

Baptism is a Public Testimony of our Faith

Baptism is your public declaration that you’re on God’s team. “Those who believed… were baptized and added to the church.” Acts 2:41. When you get baptized, you’re going public — saying to your family, your friends, and your brothers in Christ:

“I’m done hiding. I belong to Jesus now.”

What is Baptism?

Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change.  It doesn’t save you — only Jesus does — but it’s a powerful way to show that He’s transformed your life.

Think of baptism like a wedding ring. The ring doesn’t make you married, but it tells the world that you belong to someone. Baptism tells the world you belong to Jesus.

  • Baptism represents Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 6:4)
  • Baptism declares your new life in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Why Should Christians Be Baptized by Immersion

The Greek word baptizo literally means “to dip” or “immerse”.

Jesus was baptized that way - “As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.” - Matthew 3:16

Every baptism in Scripture was by immersion.

It’s the best picture of what really happened — your old life buried in death, your new life raised (resurrected) to walk with Christ.

Who Should Be Baptized?

Every man who has believed in Jesus Christ.

“Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized…” — Acts 2:41

If you’ve trusted Christ for salvation, baptism is your next act of obedience — your first real chance to lead by example in your faith.

When Should I Be Baptized?

As soon as you believe.

In the Bible, men didn’t wait to “get their act together.” They believed — and they were baptized. It’s not about having it all figured out. It’s about trusting the One who does.

A Challenge for Men

Baptism is a man’s first act of spiritual leadership - leading yourself to obey Christ.
It’s saying to the world,

“I’m not ashamed of Jesus. He changed my life, and I’m not going back.”

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

IMPACT Challenge

  • Have you taken this public stand for Jesus?
  • What’s holding you back from making your faith known?
  • Who could you invite to witness your baptism — your wife, your kids, your friends — so they see your faith in action?
