About Our Speakers
This month's breakfast features two faithful servants of God whose lives and careers reflect perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to investing in others.
Bucky Jacobsen's (left) road to the big leagues was anything but a straight line — and that's exactly the point.
A Hermiston, Oregon kid, Bucky walked on to the baseball team at Blue Mountain Community College before earning his way to Lewis-Clark State College to play for legendary coach Ed Cheff. From there, he kept climbing all the way to the Major Leagues, reaching the Seattle Mariners in 2004 as a first baseman and designated hitter.
Then came the part he didn't plan for: knee injuries that pushed him to DH late and ultimately cut his big-league career short. What he learned through that failure has shaped everything since — get up, dust yourself off, and go find the next opportunity to succeed.
Today, Bucky is a well-known voice in Pacific Northwest sports — a longtime Seattle sports-talk radio host and TV baseball analyst for FOX 13 and KING 5. He's also an entrepreneur and a baseball coach, pouring into the next generation of players.
Above all, he's a husband to Kathryn and a dad to Baron and Grace — and a man still learning, growing, and pressing forward alongside his brothers in IMPACT.
Gary Chupik (right) brings a different but equally important perspective on leadership and performance. Gary is a mental performance and leadership coach who unlocks professional teams, athletes, and businesses for peak performance. Organizations he's worked with include the Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, Microsoft, Google, Stanford University, NTT Global, Keller Williams, the FBI, and more.
Gary resides in Seattle with his wife, Molly, and enjoys smoking (meat), watching and playing sports, and breakfast dates with Molly.
Together, Bucky and Gary bring a unique combination of experience, perseverance, leadership, and a passion for helping others grow.
