A morning for men to show up, eat together, and be around other men who are serious about leading their homes, families, and work with integrity.
Rev. Dr. Marion Platt brings a lifetime of experience shaped by military service, ministry, and leadership in Charleston. His perspective is practical and grounded, forged through real leadership and responsibility.
The goal is simple. Leave sharper than you arrived. Clearer on what it looks like to lead as a husband, father, and man in everyday life, and encouraged by being in the company of men who are doing the same.

About Rev. Dr. Marion Platt, III
Reverend Dr. Marion Platt serves as Executive Director and Pastor of Star Gospel Mission, Charleston’s oldest Christian charity. A Charleston native and former U.S. Army infantryman, Marion spent nearly 20 years in ministry with The Salvation Army before returning home to lead the Mission. He holds a doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University and brings experience as a pastor, teacher, and nonprofit leader.
Marion believes deeply in the power of gentle resistance—responding to injustice not with noise or anger, but with courage, humility, and grace. His work centers on practical compassion, community restoration, and the conviction that every person deserves dignity and opportunity.
He currently serves on the board of Trident United Way and on the Faith-Based Advisory Council of the International African American Museum. A longtime Rotarian, Marion continues to speak and teach in both local and international settings.
At his core, he’s someone who’s been shaped by faith, community, and second chances—and he’s committed to walking alongside others on that same path.
